Simin is an energy engineer with a cross discipline background, long standing passion for energy conservation, and hands-on public and private sector experience in strategic energy supply and demand management.
She graduated from Ryerson University in 2011 with a master degree in Mechanical Engineering- with specialization in buildings energy performance modelling, and is currently a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. She holds Certified Energy Manager and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional designation from the US Association of Energy Engineers.
In her current role as Senior Energy Program Coordinator for IBM Canada since 2015, she has been overseeing the implementation of ISO50001 and IBM's corporate instructions and associated Energy Management plan in major sites across the country.
In her previous role as Embedded Energy Manager for Metrolinx , she developed the first energy management plan for the corporate . Prior to that, as an energy consultant with Better Building partnership -Energy efficiency office of the City of Toronto, she assisted clients across municipal , academic, social and healthcare sectors with incentives available through SaveOnEnergy program and contributed to over 7 MW of demand reduction activities between 2011-2012.
